Corey Mayo New vehicle sales consultant, Corey Mayo will literally be “heads above the rest” on the new car showroom at Ballas, standing 6 feet 7 inches tall. But don’t let the size fool you, Corey is a sensitive and caring person who loves the car business because he enjoys helping his customers achieve the goal of new car ownership. Corey say, “I love the car business for the same reason I loved the restaurant business, I love to be involved in the celebrations and excitement of good times in people’s lives”. Corey is in his second year of automotive sales after having spent most of his life in the restaurant business as sous-chef and in restaurant management. He continues to be the main cook for his wife, Rachael and their five children (ages 12-4 with baby #6 on the way in February 2009 who will be named Corey Mayo II). In fact, Corey says that people are always surprised that he has so much talent in the kitchen. While dating he would prepare gourmet dinners for Rachael and after dinner she would search the house for “take out” boxes. Corey says, “Cooking is not my hobby, it is my love”. Corey grew up in Monroe, Michigan and played sports throughout high school. Corey’s parents, Tim and Sharon Cochran and many other family members still live in Monroe. His mother Sharon is a retired Monroe schoolteacher. Corey’s hobbies include sports, boating and his love of animals. He and the children all enjoy the families’ two dogs and six large saltwater fish tanks.
When asked what he is most proud of in his life, Corey replies, “My kids. Each one is different with different talents and interests, from athletics to music to appreciation for nature, it is just great being with them and watching them grow and develop”.

Dana Kirk I was born and raised in Genoa, Ohio, but currently reside in the Berkey area with my husband, Rob, and three children, Chase (4) Kevin (16) and Emily (13). I love to cook, bake, work out and spend as much time as I can with my family. After graduating from Genoa Area High School I went on to Penta County Vocational where I studied cosmetology. Having professionally practiced that art for several years, I moved on into sales and marketing where I have traveled the country, opening marketing offices for a sports fitness and nutrition company.
Returning home tired of living out of a suitcase in 1998 I started in my career in the auto industry. I recently joined the Ballas Team because I respected their mission of earning a customer by building a strong happy customer relationship through the highest level of service…before and after the sale. While purchasing a new vehicle should be a happy event, I understand often enough the car buying experience can be tedious and stressful. This is where I can make the difference! Kate Zanella Kate is a graduate of Siena Heights University, with her degree in Business. While in school she was bestowed a Leadership Award. Kate has two adult children Shane and Gina. She is very involved with her grandchildren who live here in town. She loves to try all kinds of food but her favorites are Italian, Chinese or Lebanese. She loves gourmet cooking so if you have any recipes to swap give her a call. Any spare time is spent helping with Heroes in Action military support group and in various volunteer roles through the women's ministry in her church. Kate has been in retail sales her whole life. She came to join the Ballas team in 2000. She maintains her Buick and GMC Sales Professional status through satellite; web based or hands on classes. She is also our Child Safety Seat/ Safety Technician through SAFEKIDS.ORG. She really enjoys talking with her customers and making their total experience with Ballas Buick GMC a pleasant memorable one.

Craig Preston Welch Jr. I’m from Chicago, Illinois, where I graduated from Loyola University of Chicago. I played Rugby at Loyola and was President of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. I have a beautiful wife Morgan and a loving 4 year old named Colin James. I love to spend time with the family, travel anywhere warm and sports of all types. Football is my favorite sport to follow and I’m a fanatical Chicago Bears fan. Ballas Buick GMC has been my only auto industry experience, which I’ve been here for 2 years already. I’m fully certified as a Buick and GMC Retail Professional and also as a Certified Internet Manager. I enjoy meeting new people all the time and seeing how diverse Toledo is. Janice Whittaker Janice was born and raised in Toledo. She has lived in Ft. Myers Beach, FL. and Charleston, SC., which is where she met her husband of 12 years, Tom. Tom and Janice were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Kaitlynn, who is currently attending Beverly Elementary School. Janice Spends whatever spare time she can, volunteering in various activities at Beverly. Janice has been in retail sales most of her adult life. She enjoys working with other people, which has kept her in the retail business so long. Janice and her family are avid Ohio State Football fans, and can always be found cheering the Buckeyes on during the football season. When asked what she is most proud of in her life, Janice responds, “First and foremost, my eleven year old daughter, Kaitlynn, and secondly, getting my job at Ballas.”

Tony Ramirez Jr. As a first generation Mexican-American my family comes to this great country to exceed in every aspect of life. I am very strong about my culture and I instill that into my three beautiful children, Angelina, Makaylah and Andrew. I obviously love the family time where we speak Spanish most of the time. I like playing softball or baseball and following rugby and college football. I feel my experience with Alpha Psi Lambda has motivated me in being active as a Freemason. I am proud to have been recognized with a Diamante Award for community service. I have two years experience in the auto industry, but am new to the Ballas team. Michael Bick
The son of Peter and Aline Bick, Michael graduated from Roy C. Start High School in 1989. There he earned All-City Honors in Cross Country his Junior and Senior years. He was also a writer for his school newspaper. After high school, Michael attended the University of Toledo where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Communications. While in college, Michael worked in restaurants, building his way up from busser, to bartender and eventually in to restaurant management. From there he joined the Ballas family in 2009 as a sales consultant.
What Michael is most proud of are his two boys, Jacob age 10, and Andrew age 5. Jacob keeps his dad busy with baseball in the summer and Boys Scouts and Chess club during the winter. Andrew prefers to build with Legos and kick a soccer ball with his dad. Being a single father, and from years of restaurant experience, Michael admits to being a decent cook. The family resided in Maumee and the boys attend Maumee City schools.

Rob Quinto Rob Quinto’s parents, Angel and Lolita Quinto, always wanted their son to follow in dad’s footsteps and become a physician, but Rob wasn’t sure. So after graduation from Sylvania High School and taking a few college courses, Rob enlisted in the U.S. Army and became a field medic, stationed on the DMZ in Korea. After a year in the Field Hospital it became clear to Rob that medicine wasn’t for him. When Rob returned to Toledo he enrolled at the University of Toledo taking business courses. This led to Rob’s career in the computer industry where he worked for fifteen years in networking, sales and training technology before coming to Ballas Buick GMC in 2001 working in sales and technology. Rob’s technology skills are showcased on the Ballas company website. He designs, updates and is continually bringing the latest improvements to the site. “This is my favorite job that I have ever had”, says Rob. “It has challenges and variety, the change is constant and I can see results” he ads. “It is obvious that Rob loves his job”, says Marianne Ballas. “You can walk by his desk at any time and he is taking on line classes and listening to on line broadcasts to keep up on what is happening in the industry, then he applies it to our business”, she ads. In his spare time Rob is a “family man”. He and his wife of 23 years, Pat, are proud of their three sons, Joseph (age 21), Michael (age 17) and Anthony (age 8). In addition to being the soccer coach for his sons, Rob and Pat have made it a mission to introduce them to musicals and musical theatre. The family also shares a passion for the Boston Red Sox and they made a vacation trip to Fenway Park in Boston to enjoy a game together. Rob is a person we are all proud to know. He is attentive and responsive to his fellow workers and he is a student of the industry, never fearing change. What a perfect fit for Ballas Buick GMC and our technology needs.
